Boxing is a combat sport in which fighters use their fists to throw strikes – jabs, crosses, hooks and uppercuts – in an attempt to knock out their opponent. It can be traced back as early as 675 BC in Greece, and was acknowledged as an Olympic sport in 688 BC.

Boxing is incredibly efficient at developing hand/eye coordination, speed, accuracy and power. Almost all UFC fighters have some boxing training under their belts; Anderson Silva and George St St-Pierre both sought out Manny Pacquiao’s trainer, the renowned Freddy Roach, to help improve their striking skills.

Boxing is also a great way to lose weight; an hour’s session can burn upwards of 700 calories! Boxing is also a great way to alleviate stress and meet new people, all whilst getting fit. And the fitter you are, the less chance you have of developing heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure and disorders!

We run classes for complete beginners through to advanced students wanting to spar. We also run group sessions concentrating on bag work for an intense cardiovascular workout.
